ABOUT JUHEE

A gentle space to rediscover who you’ve always been.

Through therapy, you begin to see yourself with new eyes — not as someone who needs fixing, but as someone finding their way back home to themselves. It’s about reclaiming your voice, accessing what has been left unfelt, and discovering a steadiness that feels calming and grounding.

Still, that kind of self-connection can feel unfamiliar at first. Maybe you’ve tried to talk yourself out of your pain or convinced yourself it “wasn’t that bad.” But deep down, a quieter part of you knows something still needs attention.

That’s the part I help you listen to.

Healing begins when you stop striving to be better and start reconnecting with who you’ve always been.

Hi, I’m Juhee.

I’m a licensed professional counselor and art therapist based in Austin, Texas, and I help adults heal their childhood trauma so they can stop playing small and confidently take up space in their lives and relationships.

After more than 14 years as a therapist, I’ve learned that feelings like guilt, overwhelm, and exhaustion aren’t who you are — they’re often signs that you haven’t had the space to fully be yourself. I’m here to support you as you reclaim that space and your sense of self.

My work is deeply informed by my own healing journey. For much of my life, I believed that my tendency to stay small meant I lacked drive or energy. Over time, I realized these patterns were actually childhood strategies — ones that no longer serve me.

Today, I support clients in recognizing their childhood and adaptive patterns, and in creating space to explore, experiment with, and practice new ways of being — rooted in trust, clarity, and self-compassion.

Get to know me

  • I have a deep passion for food and a daily cappuccino.

  • I enjoy playing and watching golf.

  • People who know me well say I’m pretty funny once you get to know me.

  • For self-care, I try to focus on doing less harm instead of doing more.

  • Sometimes I give myself a 30-day break from flour-based foods or desserts (even though I love them!) as a way to truly enjoy them longer.

  • When I was younger, I thought the phrase “Be your true self” was cheesy. Now, I’m finally learning what it really means, and it’s a big part of how I live and work

Why I Do This Work

I’ve seen what happens when someone finally feels safe enough to stop performing and gives themselves full permission to be cared for, seen, and loved just as they are. There’s a quiet moment in therapy — a soft exhale, sometimes with tears — when a client connects with the grief and pain of having held it all together alone. That moment never stops to humble me.

Healing is not about becoming someone new or “better”; it’s about rediscovering who you were before the world asked you to be so strong. My work is to help you find your way back there.

For me, therapy is both an art and a practice of reclamation. Each person who walks through my door brings a layered story — full of love, loyalty, pain, and hope. My role is to help them see the full picture again, bring compassion to the parts they’ve hidden, and discover meaning in the spaces they once avoided.

This work continues to move me because I know the courage it takes to reconnect with yourself — and the freedom that comes when you finally do.

The first circle advises understanding limiting beliefs and patterns to gain clarity and self-compassion. The second circle emphasizes feeling unresolved emotions to heal and self-free. The third circle discusses cultivating connection with body and intuition to build resources for lasting change.

My Approach

My therapy approach offers a compassionate and holistic path forward for those seeking to heal childhood trauma, self-sabotaging patterns, and limiting beliefs.

Together, we’ll explore how patterns like overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or avoidance were formed—so you can begin to understand yourself with greater clarity and self-compassion. We’ll create space to feel what’s been left unfelt—your grief, challenging emotions, and long-held pain—because this is often where true healing begins.

Our work will also support you in reconnecting with your body and intuition, helping you build inner resources for lasting change. We’ll meet you exactly where you are, and together we’ll cultivate both the gentle, warm voice you’ve longed for and the firm, determined voice that helps you move forward.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. If you’re ready to begin, I’d love to meet you!
